February Full Moon

The February full moon speaks to me in a way that feels written in my bones—deep, cyclical, and inevitable. As a spiritual Native woman, as a Pisces who feels everything like the tides being pulled by the moon, this time is sacred. It’s Mkwa Giizis, the Bear Moon, a time for introspection, healing, and quiet transformation. The mother bear rests in her den, carrying new life, just as I carry my own dreams and changes within me, waiting for the right moment to emerge.

It’s also the Hunger Moon, a time when the land offers little, and we are reminded of the importance of community, of giving and receiving, of knowing that we are never meant to walk alone. The ancestors whisper through the cold wind, telling me to be patient, to trust the process, to remember that even in stillness, things are shifting.

The moon, our grandmother, watches over it all, pulling the water, pulling me. I honor her in ceremony, in quiet reflection, in the way I allow myself to feel everything so deeply. She reminds me that life moves in cycles, that endings are just beginnings waiting to unfold, and that no matter how long the winter feels, spring is already on its way.
